Confluence

I was obviously attracted to this majestic tree hence decided to stop at the lay-by. Made this record shot in The Trossachs National Park. We decided to have a snack and in next 5 minutes or so the clouds parted giving us this view....

In landscape photography land is obviously important. However it is the combination of "ideal light for that land and the land itself" which makes better images. Don't you think?

A photograph of the land without the resonance provided by sympathetic light can provide us with little more than a record.
